I’m 19 and my wonderful fiance is 21 (will be 20 and 22 on our wedding day.) We’ve been together for one year this Saturday, and we got engaged after 9 months together.

Honestly, there’s not much to tell. We’re pretty boring, going back to college this fall, getting our own place in 3 weeks – right now we live with 4 roommates.

We’re having a very untraditional wedding – a very casual backyard BBQ type affair. I’m not wearing white, there will be almost no flowers, everything except the cake is DIY (and I mean literally everything: music, decor, food).

@Joeydoodle: I’m the same. Since I was 6 all I wanted was to meet the man of my dreams and have a beautiful family.

I’m going to put it out there and say it… but Fiance and I ARE trying for a baby and stuff anyone who tells me I’m an idiot! My mother is my idol and she had 3 kids under the age of 4 by the time she was 21. If she and my father can do it and still have a beautiful loving relationship plus their own house then so can I! If I get halfway to where my parents are at their age I’ll be happy.

@Joeydoodle: Me too!! haha. I basically hide it from everyone because I know what they’ll say and how they’ll look down on me because i’ve gotten it all before. It doesnt help that I look and sometimes act younger than my age. Sometimes I’m just a huge kid. I still squeal when I’m excited and I still adore Disney films but my mother is exactly the same! It’s just who I am.

Hey there fellow Bees!

I’m in the same boat as many of you, I’m twenty, but I feel like I have a much older mentality than many of my fellow twenty somethings. My best friend is getting married in September, my SO and I have lived together for as long as we’ve been dating (almost two years) and I work full time and am trying to scrape together the money to go back to school.

A little about me. I am obsessed with singing (I’m currently in the fourth hour of a Glee marethon!) which frequently gets me in trouble at work because I absentmindedly sing when I’m not taking care of customers. I mean, I’m the girl you see in the car totally singing into the air microphone and getting WAY too into it, lol.

I’m also a lover of body modification, more specifically, tattoos. I have three to date and when the SO (finally!) proposes I will get my fourth. I can spend hours just browsing photos of gorgeous ink and daydreaming about the full sleeve I will get some day when tattoos are accepted in the workplace.

I love the summer months and the fasion that goes along with it, but beyond that my life is all about family. My sister, mother, and I all live significant distances apart and we still call/text/see each other all the time. My friends are my family to me and I spend as much time talking to them as possible.

AND I’m so glad to meet all of you!

@MissComicBook: Hi. I like tattoos but I could never get one. Needles are scary!! But I love them.

@Misfit: I am TERRIFIED of needles! lol, I had a panic attack when I got a flu shot a few years back. It’s like a gun, you don’t really see the needles, and it sounds worse than it is depending on where you get them done. The one I just got done (only two weeks old!) barely hurt at all.

@Joeydoodle: Right, it’s like a razor blade or something, like when you nick yourself shaving. I fell asleep when they did the piece on my back, lol.

Just thought I would introduce myself. I am 18 and my Fiance is 20. I wil be 19 exactly ten days before the wedding. We met online but he lived about two and a half hours away from me. I was a junior in high school and he was about to graduate. A few months later I drove up to meet him and we have been together ever since. He works as a salesperson and is about to go back to college after they somehow screwed up his transfer of credits. I work as a full time nanny and I also work at a daycare.

We are looking at buying a house a few months from now so thats what I am spending most of my time on. I want to try for a baby after the wedding and the house but my Fiance still wants to wait a few years to be more financially stable. I think I will go with his plan though. Its always good to be more stable.

My Fiance loves movies but I am more of a music kind of girl. I love hanging out and playing with kids. Right now I am just deciding what I want to go to college for.

My situation is kind of unique. I am actually a dutch citizen so we are working out a bunch of visa things which makes it a lot more complicated for both of us. The only reason I am not in college is because of those complications. Hopefully after 3 years of being married I will be accepted into college. I am interested in Hotel and Restaurant Management so that is what I am looking to do.

I gues thats it!

@miksje130: Wow, such a cute story. I had a close family friend who met her DH online, they lived on different continents and they made it work amazingly! I love hearing stories like this, lol.

I agree with your Fiance to wait for kids, not because of finances, because you’ll never be stable enough for a kid, but because you’ll want to spend some alone time together to enjoy being newlyweds!

Congrats on your engagement!

Ohh, I fit into this category for a few more months! I’m a WV bride and having a huge backyard wedding at my grandparents’ house. It’s going to be a mix of DIY, vintage and classical style. The Fiance & I have been together about three and a half years & still going strong. We’ve got about 17 months left until our wedding, but our theory is that little payments at a time will be bigger than trying to finance a wedding all at once.

The Fiance is majoring in Petroleum Engineering (too much math for me)! I’m a professional wedding photographer, so being on the opposite end of wedding planning is fun. I’m an artsy-fartsy type person and love all things creative. I’m a lover of tattoos and piercings, coloring my hair, Disney World (I was engaged there) and black and white pictures. The Fiance is a lover of video games, reading and sports. Somehow these interests blend wonderfully.

We have a fur-baby by the name of Henry. He’s a Boston Terrier Pug mix that was given up my his first set of parents (shame on them, he’s a doll)! We love to spoil him, and for now he’s enough baby for us. However, in the future, we might have a couple dumplings of our own ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess that’s it, I’ll leave you with a picture of Henry to brighten your day!

@Joeydoodle:

I’ve always wanteed to be a housewife/ stay at home mother…my dh and I are both old fashioned and when I had a job for a couple months after our wedding it just didn’t work. I love being able to make our home look clean and pretty and to have a nice dinner on the stove when he comes home:) Thank you for the kind words about ttc. I just feel like it’ll never happen and I went into panic mode. I decided to not go to college to live out my dream and I would be ruined if I wasn’t able to have children! It’s too scary to even think about!
