I am new to the bee and am very excited about being apart of this wonderful group!! My boyfriend and I are not yet engaged although we are talking about it and picking out e-rings. I am 19, turning 20 in a few months. My boyfriend is 21. We are high school sweethearts and we have been together for 4 years. He was a senior I was a sophomore. He has gone to school as a firefighter/emt but there is currently not any work for them as there haven’t been any major fires :(. I am attending the University of Oregon and am a junior, working towards a degree in Psychology/Criminology. (got my AA while I was still in high school than transferred). We have a yellow lab and that dog is our whole world. 🙂

Hey ladies! Good to see some younger brides 🙂 I’ll introduce myself, Im Darlene and I am 20 and FH is 21.. It will be 2 months before my 21st birthday when we get married and FH will be 22. We have a little girl that will be 2 in January! She is our world!! We live in New Orleans! uhhh we will be looking for a home of our own soon after we are married. I got my GED because I dropped out of highschool since I got pregnant and my school closed down. FH graduated, I am so proud of him! I went to a 6 week course and I am a certified EKG tech, and looking for a job now 😀
We met in highschool, I was a freshman and he was a sophmore and started dating soon after. We are the highschool sweethearts 🙂 Been together for 5 years, will be 6 years and 4 days when we are married.
My favorite tv shows are: SYTTD, Secret Life, American Idol, Chopped, Iron Chef, etc. lol. I love love love romantic comidies and horror movies 🙂

I guess I’m technically not in this group, but I’ll post anyway.
FH proposed 10 days ago, which was 6 days after my 21st birthday. FH is 22, and we have been together since we were 15 and 16! I know plenty of couples who have been dating since they were our age and are still happily married today. We get a lot of comments about how young we are, and even about how we should experience life first (read: sleep around), but it usually comes from those who don’t know us that well. I’m doing a 2nd degree this year, so I’ll be doing a thesis next year so we have decided to marry in Sept 2013, and I’ll be 23 and he’ll be 24.

@LovingmyBF09: You said he is going to join the military? What branch? Sorry, I’m just curious. I’ve been trying to find military brides (either they are military or their soon-to-be spouse is) and I haven’t found many. Good luck with that!

I know this is an old thread but there seems to have been some more recent posts on this 🙂 Fiance and I are both 20 although I was just shy of 20 when he proposed in May. We will both be 21 when we get married. We have been together 2 years and I am finishing up my last year of college and he is in the Air Force. I am interested in getting to know more brides my age as I am the first of my friends to be getting married!

So I thought I posted on this thread but I guess I didn’t. I’ve been here for a little while now but… hi!! 🙂
I’m 20 and Fiance is 22. I was 19 when we got engaged… but only for a few weeks, lol. I’ve gotten a few funny looks because I look even younger than I actually am too, but I don’t let it bother me. I firmly believe that age and maturity are often unrelated, and I know I’m mature enough (and my Fiance too) to be married, so I really don’t care what anyone else thinks. Our families are super supportive so I couldn’t ask for more 🙂
Fiance and I have known each other for 3 1/2 years, dating for 2 1/2. We got engaged this last January. We’re definitely having a budget wedding, since I’m going for my Bachelor’s (2nd year… tryng to graduate in 3) and he’s an EMT going to school to be a paramedic. We’re long distance for now, 1 1/2 away (but with our crazy schedules, we see each other every two weeks max so it feels farther) because of schools. But next June we won’t have to worry about that ever again and we can’t wait!
We have 2 cats and don’t plan on having kids for at least 5 years- we really want to enjoy being young and married together, since we’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy having kids as well. I’d rather be poor with him than rich without him so we make it work 🙂 And yeah… I think that’s about it.
I love meeting all you other young bees!

Fiance and I are both 20, will be 21 when we get married next summer! We are both students and will have one year left after we marry. We are both studying to be high school teachers.
We are so excited to finally be husband and wife after already dating three and a half years! We are planning a early wedding outside and an indoor brunch reception. I love crafts, diy projects, and sewing!

Hey girls! I just turned 21 and am getting married in a month!!!
He will be 20 ( I am 5 months older than him :p )
We have been together for 4 years, and have a 20 month old daughter together.
I am SO happy to see this thread, it’s good to see women of similar age on the boards. I was shocked to see threads with older women bashing young brides, maybe it’s because I live close to many rural small towns, but getting married in your early twenties is very normal here. In fact I have a close 24 y.o. friend, and people are always asking her when is she finally going to get married? HAHA.

18 here and Fiance is turning 22 Friday (I’m pretty sure he is proposing that day as well! I accidentally found my ring in his room a few days ago. AHH!) I copied and pasted this from a post I did a little bit ago. Here it goes…
I rode the pep-bus to an away game at my highschool and a boy saw that I was alone in my seat and sat next to me. I’m a very socially akward type and find it very hard to talk to people, but we never stopped talking for the entire three hour ride, even though I had never seen him before. During the game, a mutual friend told me that he was interested in me, so I led him on. Later that night on the ride home, he asked me out and gave me my first kiss. I figured I would date him and see where it went. Now it is four years later and we are still happily together!
Last month, I accidentally walked in on him and my father having the “marriage talk” and BF told Dad that he was planning on proposing soon and Dad gave his blessing. Since the cat was out of the bag, the whole street knew we were “engaged”. The problem was, even though I knew he was planning on proposing soon, it wasn’t offical and now we are stuck in kind of a limbo. We went window shopping for rings soon after and I gave him some choices. Now for the exciting part….
Last week while BF was in the bathroom, I happened to see a shiny, metallic rose lying on his coffee table. I looked at it, picked it up, and realized it had a hinge. OH. MY. GOD. When I opened it, a shiny, blingy ring stared at me! I threw it back on the table and pretended that I had not noticed it. A few minutes later after I left the room, I saw that BF had hidden it again.
Here is a photo of the rose ring box:
Here is photo of the ring (not by me, it’s from the site):

Hi, I’m new(ish) to the site… I’m 19, turning 20 in a few weeks, and my fiance is 20. We went to high school together and became really good friends in grade 12 and started dating after grad. Just got engaged a couple of months ago and are getting married next summer! So he’ll be 21 and I’ll be 20.

I’m so glad I’m not alone! All anyone has been saying is “Why?” and “But your so young!”
Anyway, I’m 19, I live in Philadelphia and I’ve been engaged since August. My fiance is 25 and we’ve been together only 8 months. (we may be a little crazy) We actually got engaged at our 6 month mark. I’ve always been the kind of person who knows what they want, I make decisions quickly, and I always stick to them. Since it was really fast and I’m so young a lot of people were really surprised, especially family.
Currently I’m a nursing student (I graduate May 31st WOOT WOOT). I’m super excited because I’ll be the youngest RN to graduate from my school ever at age 20. I definately don’t feel 19 and marriage for me seemed like a natural next step. I’m pretty self-sufficient and I’m excited to get my life started. We’re still discussing dates for our wedding but we figure feb 20, 2013. We’re planning on having a very small wedding. We’re also planning to move in together sometime between Christmas and graduation this year so we have a lot to look forward to.
I’m so excited there’s a lot of other young brides out there 🙂

I’m under 21… but only for another week! My birthday is the day after Halloween and I turn 21. Fiance is 21 and will turn 22 in December. We’re getting married in May.
We’re high school sweethearts and by the time we get married, we’ll have been together two weeks shy of 6 years! I actually haven’t gotten any of the “but you’re so young” nonsense, but I think we both look older than what we are, and we’ve been together for half a decade.
It’s nice to know there are so many other young brides out there. Everyone always seems to think 25 is the “right” age to get married, but I plan on having a couple kids by that time!

This is such a good idea, I didnt know there was so many of us! I am 19 years old, and my Fiance is 24. We got engaged a few months ago on Easter in Punta Cana. We have been dating for 5 years, and we have a two year old son. He is currently in University for Mechanical Engineering, and I own a Barbershop and a spa (The barbershop has been in my family for 6 generations).
As for the wedding, we are getting married in the summer of 2013, on a beautiful lake. Afterwards we are going to Punta Cana, the first week a lot of our friends and family are coming with us and leaving and we will be staying for another two weeks.
Have fun planning everybody!

Still in pre-engagement… but I am 18 (19 on Thanksgiving) & the boyfriend is 20, almost 21. 🙂
We plan to be married by the time he’s 23 and I’m 21. (Hopefully sooner!)
