My maid of honor is already asking me what I’d like to do for my bachelorette in December-its a long ways away but Id like to hear some opinions from others regarding our plans…
We are either going to stay in northern VA/DC and do a nice dinner then drinking, OR we will go and sleep over in NY one night to do dinner-drinking…
My favorite restaurants are in NY, but in the last two months before the wedding I am afraid I will be stressed and a trip will be more tiring than fun…am I being lame? Haha.I know NY isn’t even far, but I’m afraid it will be stressful.
Do you guys think its worth it to take a trip? Or should we just live it up where we are and avoid the traveling time?

I think it could be totally worth it, given the right situation. I am more of a ‘relax and hangout’ kinda girl, rather than bar hopping or clubbing.
The only way I would agree to a whole weekend getaway would be if we went to the beach. That might be kinda hard to do in december though 😀

Yeah, I would really love to have my bachelorette dinner there…I just looked at my list of things to do in December and it was so long…(yes i have actually made a month by month list of things to do!) lol

Get your December stuff done before you go on your bachelorette party.
Only you know what you can handle, but in the two months before my wedding, I have two out of town weddings (that require flights), my MOH’s 30th birthday, a convention to work, my (destination) bachelorette party, and a weekend home to MN for a bridal shower.
I’m just planning to have all of the stuff done. I’m sure I’ll end up a little stressed, but I’m looking forward to my weekend getaway with the girls!

I would totally be on board with a destination bach party. Hopefully, the BMs get to do all the work and planning and all you have to do is pack and show up. Even if you have to do some of the planning, I still think it sounds like a blast. Go for it!

🙂 Yeah that’s true, since I won’t have to do the planning, how stressful could it be?
I’ll just make sure I get other things done before the trip so they aren’t on my mind…

I went to the beach for the weekend with my girls. It was so awesome! We went about a month before the wedding, and it was so great to get away with my best friends and not think about the wedding for a weekend!

My girls surpised me with a trip to VT for my bachelorette party. It didn’t stress me out at all. It was nice to have a weekend away to just have fun and not think about wedding planning.

I think you should go! NY is only a short drive from NoVA and it would be a lot of fun! I think you will be fine and it will be fun to have a weekend to hang out and let loose!

I’d be worried more about the expense, personally, but we’re on a really strict budget. So I guess I would find it exhausting.

Both. It’ll be exciting and exhausting, but totally worth it. 🙂

You should totally go. I just got from mine in Vegas and I was not stressed at all. It was a nice break from the wedding planning madness. Just work hard before you go so you can allow yourself a couple of days hanging out with the girls. Girl time is so important!!

I vote NY weekend. Yes, you will likely have tons of things to do – BUT – you will plan the weekend in, just like your list of things to do. Carve that time out – it’s IMPORTANT!!!

I think it’s a nice idea, as long as you make sure that all the people you’re inviting can afford it.
