I’m gonna take the plunge and make myself an appointment to get my first professional Brazilian wax next week. I’ve tried it at home, but always chicken out around the labia area. The bikini line waxing doesn’t scare me, though.

@strawbabies: It’s not bad at all! I find the best way to get through it is just chat with the esthetician. If you can start up a good conversation and keep chatting away it’ll help distract you. If you can do the bikini line waxing then you’ll have no problem at all doing the rest of it. I actually think the labia is the least painful area. For me, the worst part is the pubis mons (I’m taking a physiology course right now so I’m using all technical terms haha), the area directly above the clitoris. But find something to distract you, like a conversation or watch a funny movie on your phone or listen to an iPod, and that will help a TON.

Agree! Talk to the girl doing it. You’ll be surprised at how fast it goes.

Ask your waxer to use hard wax and get some of that Tend skin or something to prevent ingrowns!

Take 2 Advil 30 minutes before you go. It’s not bad at all.
