@MrsWe:  Does your employer offer certificate programs? I know a lot of employers encourage their employees to take certificate programs and will actually reimburse them for it. I would check with your employer to see what benefits they offer for continuing education and take advantage of them if they do offer it. 🙂

@MrsWe:  I’m not an expert in regards to HR, but I believe there is a national accreditation you could sit for. That may be something to help you advance within HR.

I would definitely take the PHR or SPHR if I were you (and if you’re trying to get into HR).  That’s a biggy in the HR field.

@MrsWe:  Shit I forgot about that.  You could always do a post-bach certificate in HR.  I would definitely think about looking for a HR Admin job, too.

@MrsWe:  I have used PeopleSoft, Kronos and Ceridian.  It’s just HRIS software.  I knew someone too, that’s how I got into HR.  I did not have a lick of experience in any of these programs, but they are so, so easy to use.  It will not take you long at all.  I don’t know if they offer HRIS courses, but if they do, you might want to see if you can get into an ADP class.  I haven’t used it, but I am sure it will not take you long to learn!

@MrsWe:  Yeah it’s hard.  I was an Admin Asst before I was a HR Coordinator 🙂  It’s actually really good experience to have!  Can you switch into HR within your current company possibly?
