I voted keep your current ring not because I don’t love the morganite, it’s gorgeous, but it is a lot softer than a diamond. If your planning on wearing it forever it won’t hold up like a diamond, you may end up with some scratches and such. How about setting the morganite for a RHR?

Both rings are gorgeous though! Good luck.

The morganite is very pretty but I love the diamond halo.  Good luck on your decision!

@mrsbolsley:  What would you do with your current ring? You say use the diamonds in the new ring but what about your center stone?

I’d suggest you keep your current ring but set the morganite into a fun setting for your right hand!

I would keep yours and reset the morganite as a RHR!

@mrsbolsley:  both are beautiful.  if you really want the morganite as your ering, i think it may be more expensive to customize a setting for your morganite with your current stones vs just buying a semi-mount in the size you need for your new stone.  what size and shape is your morganite?

i love the last picture that you posted.

I think the morganite is a unique and beautiful stone. Although the last picture really made me take a second look, I still wouldn’t chance wearing a stone in my engagement ring that isn’t designed for constant wear. It would bother me a lot to “have” to remove it constantly out of fear of damaging the stone.

I just went googling and you’re quite right. A lot of people wear Morganite daily. MOHS hardness is 7.5 – 8.0 (I’m not sure why it has a range).

I think you will have a beautiful ring and cannot wait to see a picture of it on your hand!
