Feeling a little overwhelmed right now so I’m taking a break from things I need to be doing to vent for a moment!
Our wedding is in 5 days, and I have so many projects left to complete. My house is a MESS. I still have a ton of paper left to cut for the programs and it is all currently covering my living room floor. I’m making the infamous “string balls” for decorations so those are strung up across my kitchen and the mess from them is still pretty much…everywhere. I have Ikea tolsby frames to paint, a wooden box to stain for our guestbook “wish” cards, and about a hundred more things to do.
Needless to say, I need to be pushing through these projects. Yet today I have to clean it all up, put it all away, just to take it all out again and get started tomorrow night (which equals a wasted day!!). This is because tomorrow the owner of the house we rent is coming to do a walk-through (because we have a pet) and of course I don’t want the house to be trashed when he comes! And it could be anytime tomorrow, I don’t know an exact time. Grr!!
Sorry for the long vent, I’m just so irritated that I have to clean today LOL.

@Miss Sorbet: This is my first post here, but I wanted to tell you that my wedding is on Saturday, too, and I feel the same way. Not only is our entire loft covered with little tiny paper dots from the stupid Martha Stewart “doily lace edger” (ugh I hate that I own this!) but also the vacuum belt busted on Saturday. I am in DIY hell! I am so tired today, and I know that I have to go home and make little dowel banners to stick in the drink tubs.
What I keep telling myself is, in reality, I don’t *have* to make little dowel banners. Life will go on without them. I *want* to make the dowel banners. It’s a choice, not a requirement.
At any rate, good luck. Just think how many hours of your life you’ll get back after this weekend. And I’m sure all of your projects will turn out beautifully.

I am getting married on Saturday too! Hard not to get overwhelmed with it all. I hope that you have some people who can possibly come help you.
I knew a long time ago that I didn’t want to be so stressed with a lot of projects, so I kind of kept the DIY to a minimum, or at least not have a lot of last minute stuff. I am really glad i did because there is no way i would be able to fit much more stuff into the time frame.
Good Luck in getting your stuff done.

I feel your pain. Last night I was working on ribbon balls and ended up burning and blistering a couple of my finger tips…guess, what…ribbon balls…not needed. Who cares at this point. Not me. My best friend told me that no one would say “WHAT NO RIBBON BALLS!! THAT TOTALLY RUINS THIS WEDDING”. She is so right and it made me laugh at myself. Sometimes you need that.

@Miss Sorbet: I feel your pain! My house is a total mess, I told Fiance we just had to let it be for a few days and then it will all be gone 🙂 Bummer about the walk through, I hope it’s early so you can get back on track. Hang in there, it’s going to go by so fast…and stay healthy. That’s the most important thing to enjoy your wedding day * HUGS *
