it’s really to mail them out. if your guest list changes (if your friendship with someone falls away, or if your budget changes), you’re basically screwed because you still have to invite everyone you sent a std. if you really want to send something now, give them to your family, then wait until 6-9 months before to send the rest.

Yea, it’s just a little too early lol but I know how you feel with being really eager and really excited. Typically, Save-The-Date Cards go out about 6-9 months for destination weddings and 4-6 for the more local or closer proximity wedding. I would wait until later this fall to begin to think about sending them out, even with family. Plus, you want to have your guest list finalized to some degree and things could always change, people added or deleted.
