Does anyone else jokingly get called “old lady” or something along these lines on your birthday? Does anyone else also hate it for some unidentifiable reason, even though you intellectually understand you are not actually a senior citizen yet?

I think most people get the same jokes aimed at their age on their birthday. It doesn’t bother me, it’s usually done in an affectationate jokey way.
My husband in particular will make loads of age jokes at me, despite him being 14 years older than me. They’re just meaningless and light hearted jokes.

My FH jokes with me like this on my birthday all the time because I’m a year older than he is. I usually just throw a quip back at him like “Yes, but I’m infinitely wiser,” lol. It doesn’t really bother me.

My SO flat out calls me old all the time.
But he also calls himself old. Age only bothers you if you let it.

I think it happens to everyone.
The alternative to aging is death, so — I’m all for aging.

My husband is 4 years older than me, and has the audacity to call ME old. All the time, lol. I’m sort of a sensitive person in general, but I can’t see anything to be offended about on that.

Yeah for someone reason it has always devastated me, and I have no idea why since I know it’s said in jest! Just wondering if anyone else feels the same.

What’s so bad about getting old? It’s something to be proud of, having experience and being fortunate enough to live longer. Many people are fighting to stay alive. Perspective is everything.
