It depends on the place.  That is what determines if I get carded- where I am and their policies.  Most places do, one place in town doesn’t.  I am 28.

When I get carded I don’t take it as a compliment, I take it as “Oh this person is just doing their job because they don’t want to even risk getting in trouble for selling to a minor”

It usually happens whenever I go to a new bar or store to purchase alcohol.

My FH got carded this weekend when he purchased two PG-13 movies (Twister & A Perfect Storm..we might be movie nerds 😉 ).  We are both 28 and it was one of the best moments of my life 🙂

We both look relatively ‘young’ though and we get carded all of the time.  The only time I don’t get carded is when I look horribly disheveled, ha!

I only get carded when it’s compulsory (bouncers at bars etc who have to check everyone’s ID by law).

I’m 22 and I can count on one hand the number of times I have been carded. I got carded three times right after I turned 19 because I was buying cigarettes and I got carded once buying alcohol at 21 at a gas station. Other than that, never.

At 23, more often than not I get carded for buying alcohol in liquor/beer stores and at restaurants/bars.  Hubs NEVER gets carded, especially when he has facial hair.  I don’t think I’ve been carded for buying cigs/cigars, though…

I voted I always get carded and I’m 21-25. I’ll be 22 in a little over a month, so I guess when you’re 21, yeah you get carded, and you know what? You REALLY ike it!! LOL

I get carded all the time.  I don’t drink much, but doesn’t matter where we go, if I order a drink, I get carded.  I’m 29.  LOL!  The best one was at my 10-year high school reunion….we were in a ballroom with several other groups, but it was 21-plus only, (the exception being a tiny baby another group was holding a fundraiser for).  Meaning EVERYONE had to get carded to get IN.  I decided to have one drink, went to the bar…and got carded.  I didn’t say anything, but I was thinking, “REALLY?!  I had to get carded to even be here, and you’re going to card me again???”  Tongue Out

I’m 23 & I get carded for everything! I was returning something to a store and they told me I couldn’t get a store credit for the item because I had to be 18…. and I was like, um I’m 23! I hate being carded because my purse is a black hole, and I always have to dig & dig in there until I get to it.

I’m 28 and I only get carded if I go to a club. Other than that, nothing!

Meanwhile, My Fiance gets carded all the time, because he has a babyface (and he’s 3 years younger than me!)

I’m 24 and I almost always get carded for alcohol but when I was 19 and used to smoke I never got carded.

I think it depends on the atmosphere of the place a lot. When I’m dressed up and somewhere nice no one asks, even when I was under age. There was this nice restaurant that my friends and I would go to just because we knew we could drink and they wouldn’t card but when I’m at Chili’s in my super mature shirt that says “BEER” on the front and has a picture of a bear with antlers then you better believe I am getting carded.

    1. LOL I have a twin sister but we’re not identical. It’s SO funny when she gets carded but I don’t. She is often mistaken for a middle schooler but we are over 30!

I actually was buying bottled root beer the other day and the cashier asked me for my ID and I was like, ‘uh, why’ and she said, ‘the beer’ and I said, ‘the root beer?’ and she looked at it again and turned red and said ‘oh, that’s why the alert didn’t pop up.’ lol

I’ve never been carded before because I don’t drink or smoke.

    I get carded for alcohol sometimes.  I’m 35.  I don’t think I look anywhere near 21 though.

I am 33 and about 90% of the time I will get carded.  The only time I am not carded is if I get a specific cashier at the grocery store that I regulary visit and she makes it a point to comment that she still can’t belive I am as old as I am.

Frankly, I used to hate getting carded and being told I look so young, now I take it as a completment!

I think it’s a combo of dressing in junior clothes Embarassed (well not so much now that I am pregnant) but I still dress “young”.  I typically have funky hair and I am short.  My grandmother also told me to stay away from tanning and as I result I have pale skin but I think it looks healthy for someone my age.  Having good genetics helps too, my mother looks young for her age as well.
