Bees! (silly me, I posted this in the wrong place first. Dur.)
I have a pretty strong suspicion my summer holiday is going to come with a little extra this year! I’d asked him to wait until summer this year at least, as I wasn’t sure we were ready. Things progressed and we talked some more, and we looked at rings not too long ago. He’s settled on the one (I’m not particularly fussy, and he has excellent taste, so he gets to do the final choosing). I think it’s going to be a 0.5ct solitaire, as I have very tiny hands and anything bigger looks kind of gaudy, plus I don’t really wear jewellery.
ANYWAY, I know SO’s been talking to his best friend about it and Best Friend let slip that he’s planning to buy in the next week! We head off in a couple of weeks for a nice long break in a very romantic location, so I think maybe that’s where he’ll do it! (He’s pretty old-fashioned like that) It may not happen on holidays, because he knows I think he’s going to do that, but it’s still exciting to think about! I am like a child before Christmas!! Eep!
I’ve suddenly become SUPER-conscious of my nails! I have pale, freckly hands – any suggestions for nice waiting nails?!

I have none because I never do my nails. I can’t afford to do manicures on a regular basis and I’m horrible at painting my own nails. So I figure, hey as long as there’s not any dirt under my nails, I’m good lol. But seeing all these other ladies talk about manicures, it has inspired me to start painting my own nails. Practice makes perfect right?
So I’m curious to see what other Bees will say. I also have pale hands, though they’re not freckly.

@Bulba: First off, congrats 🙂
I think girls with fair skin look pretty with darker nail colors, but I think this color is very nice too:

@badabing88: Ooooh, pretty, thanks!
@peonyinlove: I have a decent hand cream, but I’ll get a cuticle oil, that’s a good idea – it’s not that my hands are in bad condition, they’re just kind of weird-looking!!
Yeah, am trying to find ways to distrct myself for the next while so I don’t go too mad with excitement. I’ve never been that good at waiting patiently for things…!

@Bulba: I personally think Essie’s Haute as Hello will liven up your hands, and it’s the perfect shade for spring/summer. It’s a nice light coral peach color. I love it. If you don’t want to go that “wild,” I love Essie’s Delicacy as well (a very fair light creamy pink).
I have found that using an INGLOT or Seche Vite topcoat gives my at-home mani a professional look.
