Last week I was at work super late, and my SO was bugging me bugging me bugging me about getting home.

I was in a bad mood because of working late, and was complaining about it to him via text, and he was trying to get me home, and he ended up saying “well, I hope this cheers you up… I have a surprise for you. I wanted to keep the fact that I have a surprise secret, but I changed my mind.”

At this point I was thinking that I had NO idea what surprise he could have for me… it was a regular week night, and I was confused. He’s not the type to plan something…

On my way home I was starting to think “is this it? could it be?”

When I walked in the door, he was waiting with flowers. Very sweet, but definitely NOT a proposal.

I kept my cool though. He’s the best.

I am starting to get jumpy! This year I did an internship at a church, and tonight I had to bid them farewell. My family was there to support me, and my supervisor invited my SO to the front to say a few words. My supervisor introduced him as my “boyfriend but hopefully soon-to-be fiance!” Maybe it was it was that introduction that put the thought in my mind, but even though I knew this was not planned and even though I know he will not propose in front of a crowd, a part of me wondered, “What if this is it?!” Of course it wasn’t, though my SO said some lovely words. But it made me realize that I am now to that point where every little thing is going to make me jumpy! Our timeline is summer, and my summer starts on Friday. Let the anxious anticipation begin!

@MountainWolf:  “Jumpy” is a good word for it! I’ve gotten pretty jumpy lately.

He’ll be like, hey wanna get chinese tonight? and in my head I’m like “WE LOVE CHINESE HE’S GOING TO PROPOSE!” Not really a true fake out, more like I’m losing it lol

Dh used to tease me all the time about proposing..  like start to go on one knee and then fake out… or say really seriously “will you… hand me that book/water/the keys” then when he finally did (he was waiting to get the money for the ring and get it shipped) he proposed the 1st outing we had once he got the ring… I thought he was joking abd playfullyhit him as he was kneeling..  oopps!!!

Lol I had a moment like this the other night. I had gotten a bad haircut and I was upset so in an effort to cheer me up, he kept asking me what I wanted to do. He told me that it was my night and we could do whatever I wanted, no matter how expensive it was, how far away it is or how late it was. He would do everything in his power to make it happen for me 🙂

Well, I couldn’t think of anything lol. So we were just driving around town, brainstorming ideas on where to go. Then he suddenly says “I have an idea!”

Then he shuts up and refuses to say another word, just giving me a cryptic smile. I try to get him to tell me where we’re going but nope, he refuses to break.

Well, right before we get there, I figured out where he was taking me. He was taking me to the park where we had our second date.

So I suddenly started thinking “Wait…could it be?? No! No, of course not. Tonight wasn’t even supposed to be a romantic night, he’s just trying to be sweet and cheer me up.”

Haha for a while there, I thought he might propose spontaneously. But he didn’t. And in retrospect, I’m glad. I want him to propose on a night that is romantic. Not because he’s trying to cheer me up lol.
