My weight has always flucuated–due to a cancer illness when I was 19, I know have hypothyroidism because of thyroid radiation. I currently am about 50 pounds overweight and I want to lose it.
I went wedding dress shopping a couple days ago, and was completely horrified that I was in a size 18 wedding gown (my street size is 14)..i decided then and there I was going to be a fitter and more toned bride.
Yesterday I woke up and started the C25K running program to slowly get back in shape and help me build resistance and endurance. I am tracking what I eat and joined weigh watchers today. I am aiming for about 1500 calories per day and about 27 points on WW. I did not run today, but mixed it up with 20 mins of cardio, as to start out slow so I don’t overwhelm myself or become discouraged.
I always drink a lot of water, but am upping my water intake and cutting out sodas and juices in exchange for unsweetened icea tea–which I love–as drinking water 24/7 can tempt to want something different.
I hope to drop about 40-50 by dec 2010…does that seem realistic? I run my own business from home..which is great, as I can plan my exercising and really watch what I eat…but is also tempting bc the fridge is there…haha!!!
My wedding date is sept 2011, so I have some time to get in shape–it is a great motivater. I don’t plan on going back to try on any dresses for another few months. I am meeting with my doctor tomorrow to go over what I should do as far as nutrition, exercise etc.
Any tips, suggesstions, ideas for me?!?
