Just a thougt, are you tied to that date? Many people choose the date based on the availability of the venue.

Have you looked at C.V. Rich Mansion down in White Plains?  I like that they do one wedding at the time and it is kind of like having your own mansion for the day.  Their prices were not that bad considering Westchester prices.  I didn’t end up booking with them but I liked the place.  I heard food was very good as well.  My fiance didn’t like the ballroom itself though.  He thinks that it looks like a school gym because there is a big stage in the front and superhigh ceiling.  I didn’t mind it and thought it gave a retro/West Side Story feel to it.  We didn’t book them in the end because we decided to go to Long Island instead.

@SoontobeMrsKCee:  We decided to look at Long Island because it is a lot cheaper. Plus there are soooo many choices for different price ranges and settings (on the water, off the water, on the lake, in a mansion, indoor chapel, outdoor chapel etc).  Yes some of them do seem to be a “wedding factory” but you can still find a lot of nice places on Long Island.

I didn’t have any brouchure from the CV Rich Mansion.  I just went there to meet with them and the Bridesmaid or Best Man went over the prices with me in person. This may clarify things more for you. Might be worth it to just take a look if you want that type of setting.  Like I said, it is kind of like having a wedding at someone’s house, but it’s a mansion 🙂
