I’ve never had my make-up professionally done so this will be a new experience for me. I’m wondering what I should ‘wear’? I’ll shower right beforehand and need to put on, at the least, moisturizer. I usually use a tinted moisturizer, but could just use plain old Aveeno lotion for a more ‘blank canvas’. What do you think?
What about any other make-up? I have very sparse and light eyebrows and I’ll admit I’m slightly embarassed to go out in public without filling them in a bit! Can I do that? Or should I just get some huge sunglasses and let the beauty salon staff deal with them? I definitely don’t want them to have to wash my face once I get there cause I have really sensitive skin and use a special soap at home.
Of course I won’t put on any eyeliner, blush, etc. Just wondering about the more basic things…
I’d appreciate any advice! Thanks 🙂

Can you call the make up artist and asks her what she prefers? I never went my self but a friend of mine did and she asked her to go bare faced.

I would go with a blank face. When I have had my makeup done they have put on moisturizer before they use primer.

If you’re that embarassed about your eyebrows, you can just fill them and she’ll wipe them off with makeup remover wipes. I’ve had my makeup done many times, and every single time they’ve wiped my face with makeup remover any way, even though I told them I didn’t have any on. That being said, I wouldn’t put on anything more than the eyebrows.

When I had mine done they told me to come with a clean, moisturized face.

My makeup lady came to my house for my trial and told me no makeup and nothing on my face. She wanted to see what she would be working with without any toners and lotions, etc. I’d just ask her if you aren’t sure – some people might prefer different things.

You want to come in with a clean face. Wash and moisturize with your normal face wash and a regular (non-tinted) moisturizer. You’ll be okay not doing your eyebrows for your drive to the salon.

I am going to be going with a clean, bare face!

My makeup artist preferred that I had my own moisturizer on when she went to apply makeup.

Thanks all. I think I’ll go with a clean but moisturized (not tinted) face and we’ll see how it goes. Fortunately this is just a trial before the big day. I wish they could come to my house, but it’s a big place and they said customers have to go there, no exceptions. And I wish it was just a matter of driving there, but I don’t drive so it’ll be a 30-minute bus ride!
Anyway, thanks all! 🙂
