When my fiance and I first talked about getting married, I told him that I wanted to get married during peony season. We got engaged in mid-July 2011, and jumped into wedding planning head first. Everything was booked. We ended up having to chose between early May and October. We chose May for the peonies. I found a florist who is going to force them to bloom for me because our wedding is just before peak peony season.
Anyone else who picked a season for a flower? Any other peony brides out there?

We didn’t pick the season for the flower, but I am really really excited that I can have peonies in June. I LOVE them (uhh like every other bride haha)

I didn’t pick my date for flowers, but I am incredibly disappointed that my wedding is just a month too early for peonies. They are beautiful. We’ll have raununculus, cabbage roses, etc.

I did, I did!! 🙂 I chose May b/c I wanted a lily of the valley bouquet (before Duchess Kate, thank you very much), and that’s when they’re in season. Pretty much the main driver for my focus on May for our date.

I picked May, AND I wanted peonies, and it just worked out that I was able to have them, because they were available.

@Peony007: My is May and I’m hoping to have peonies, but I didn’t pick the date because of it.
