We’re getting married in Savannah, GA, early December. We’ve never been there before. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for that time of the year?
We’re eloping and the ceremony is going to be at the Gastonian Inn.
Will it be too chilly for an early afternoon wedding in the garden, or won’t the garden be pretty that time of year?

The historic district in Savannah is beautiful–great place to elope. Ask them what is in their garden. We keep pansies/violas out all winter long. Camellias also bloom that time of year. Most trees will have lost their leaves, but you always have the Spanish moss and ornamental grasses. The garden might still be really pretty. As far as weather is concerned, that is trickier. It could be really cold or 60 degrees and sunny. If you don’t mind being a little chilly (I am assuming a short ceremony) and have an indoor back up plan, I think you can plan it outside.

We’ll check with the Inn about what is in their garden. It will be a short ceremony. The Gastonian has the option of using their garden or their parlor, so I think they have a good back up plan already in place. I’m really hoping we’ll be able to use the garden, because that’s what I’ve had my heart set on for a while.
Coming from Michigan where the average December temp is in the mid-30s, even 50 will seem almost balmy!
I glad to hear that the historic district will be beautiful for our wedding! We’re really looking forward to getting married there as it seems like a very romantic location, and we love all the history.
