Oh no! I just got over a minor nasal-y cold that lasted 2-3 days tops so just try to rest, hydrate, and medicate ;]. Also, seriously, invest is good/moisturizing tissues!! My nose is like peeling on the end from blowing my nose so much the past couple days which is not very attractive haha.

It never fails for me to gargle mouthwash in my throat at least 3x a day. If I catch it early enough, the cold doesn’t last more than a day. If I don’t, it still doesn’t last more than 2.

somethingbee: Gargling is a big help for me too. I gargle with salt to kill the bacteria. Tastes gross but works wonders!

Cold Eeze or anything with zinc is the trick for me. If I take a Cold Eeze the first day or two of a cold, it sometimes heads it off all together. They have lozenges or a spray. I SWEAR by this!

AHH. I’d be running to the doctor insisting they have to give me IV fluids or something. 😛 I’m sure PPs suggestions are great. Vitamin C always helps me.. but thats all I’ve got! Good luck bee!

fresh ginger tea with lemon and honey helps to relieve a sore throat and loosen up congestion due to a cold

Okay this is going to sound weird but it’s what Chinese people do when they have a cold. Boil coke with ginger! It’ll clear your throat and congestion up. Actually tastes pretty good too… I usually don’t drink soda at all but if I have a cold, that’s what I drink instead of taking medicine. I’ve only been doing this for a few years after Fiance got a terrible cold in China when we were visiting relatives.

Thank you everyone! I ended up with alot of dayquil, airborne and alot of other vitamin c. I felt good until late last night and my voice cracked during vows since my voice is going. Otherwise, it was a great night! Today I feel like crap, but I don’t even care.

Congratulations! On my wedding day, I woke up with a full cold, and lost my voice by lunchtime, when my ceremony was at 3! I pumped myself full of drugs, ate a big breakfast, drank water faster I breathed and managed to make it through with a half voice. That night I lost it completely though. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
