I’ve been off for two months so far and have had ‘normal’ 28 day cycles both months.  The only downside is that I’ve had pretty bad cramps the day my period starts.  I’ve actually been surprised that my period has been lighter and a few days shorter than it was while on the pill.  I hope this continues!

I’ve been off for almost 5 months, and I’m still all over the place.  This month has been a little more normal, so I’m hoping that I will regulate myself, but if not, I’ve discussed with my doctor, and next month I’m going to have to have some intervention.

I voted other! First 2 cycles were “normal” at 34 and 33 days, then my last one was  59 days!! Hoping this next one is more like the first two 😉 Really depends on the person.

    Best of luck!

Mine’s been pretty normal so far– the first was almost 40 days, but it’s been around 30 since then. But I am definitely ovulating, which is the thing I was most worried about, and then my period is pretty consistantly 15-16 days after that. So I call it normal. Been off BCP since the beginning of April.

I am not quite sure what you mean by “normal” – either that I started Oing again or that my cycles became a “normal” (for me) length, so I will answer both.  I O’ed my first cycle off the pill (three weeks after stopping BCP) and O’ed every cycle from then on.  In terms of length, my cycles were a tiny bit longer than pre-BCP right after I stopped the pill, but regulated within 3 months.  (Prior to BCP I had 31-32 day cycles.  I have a 14-day LP.  After the pill, I O’ed on CD 21 the first cycle (35 day cycle), CD 19 on cycle 2 (33 day cycle), and CD 17 or 18 the third cycle and every cycle thereafter (31-32 day cycle).)

I stopped nuvaring in May and the jury’s still out on whether I’m back to “normal” or not.  I had a 43 day cycle last month, which was my first cycle after a withdrawal bleed.  I wasn’t temping or OPKing and I have no idea if I O’d or not.  At the time, I thought I O’d on my wedding day (5/27) due to a huge amount of CM.  But then my cycle lasted another month after that, so who knows.

I’m now on CD18 and waiting to O.  I’ve been OPKing for 10 days and I keep getting fade in and outs without a positive.  I finally seem to have either EWCM or close to it, so hopefully O will happen in the next day or 2.  If we don’t get pregnant this cycle, I’m guessing my cycle will be 34-40 days long.

I was only on BC for six months prior to the wedding. Didn’t want to get KU and not fit my dress.  But, I was suprisingly normal afterwards. AF came right on schedule.

@sweetmamam:  I as well have PCOS and before BC would go up to 6 months with no AF. Well, now for the past 10 months it’s been almost clock work. Hopefully it does the same for you, but, hopefully you get a bfp sooner.  : )

I went off not to TTC, but just because I was getting head aches and was sick of being on them.

I took my last pill at the regular time for the month, got my period and then didn’t start taking the next month of pills again. I’ve had 34-35 day cycles since then (4 so far) and things seem to be normal. I don’t know for sure if I’m ovulating or not though.

I went off last November and am all over the place.  Pre-pill (10+ years ago) I had predictable 29-day cycles.  Since going off the pill it’s been:

    Cycle 1:  120 days (anovulatory; provera-induced period)

    Cycle 2:  39 days  (ovulated)

    Cycle 3:  30 days (ovulated)

Cycle 4:  40 days (don’t know if I ovulated — I was traveling and didn’t temp for the last 8 days.  I either didn’t ovulate or had a really short luteal phase)

I’m thankful I went off the pill well before we wanted to try and get preggers both because of the wonky cycles and — ahem — my sex drive has been crazy high.  It’s like being a teenager again (only now I’m supposed to be having sex).

I haven’t gotten a period since I re-started BC over a year ago, and I just went off it a month ago…and nothing yet – no period although I’ve had some cramps. Hoping AF comes to visit soon so I can start charting and be ready for baby making by the fall 🙂

@Yellow.Clover:  Awww thanks hun. Have had some heartbreaking news about my mother’s health today and part of me wishes I was pregnant right now so that I could at least share the start of my pregnancy with her.

Here’s my story with the pill.

In December 2010, I was off to visit my family for Christmas. Fiance had to work and couldn’t come with. In the midst of the craziness that is the holiday season, I forgot to pack a new pack of pills. Being out of town, I figured I would just start a new pack after my period came in January.

When I got back home after my visit, Fiance and I had, what we call a “Love Lock Down”..lol Even though we both knew I wasn’t on the pill, we weren’t that careful. Needless to say, my January period never came. A test confirmed i was pregnant.

So for me, a normal cycle started immediately. It was a shocker, as I had large ovarian cysts removed the previous year and Fiance and I were prepared for it to take a whille for us to conceive.
