So I am sitting here thinking about my day of timeline and realized I may like to get my hair and make-up done by myself at a salon, without the entourage in tow. I just thought it would be nice to get a few moments of quiet time before pictures, getting into dresses, etc.
Has anyone else done this or thought about doing this? I feel a bit selfish, but I know I am going to need a little bit of “me time” before the craziness starts.

That is how I got ready. I went to the saloon with my mom, mil, 2sil and 2 best friends. The saloon was very big and it was empty when we arrived. They have a seperate floor for the bride. I got ready on the bridal floor while others were getting ready downstairs. It was quiet and calming. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time there. Everyone was ready in just two hours.

yaara : Yes! The calm energy. I am a low energy person so the last thing I want is someone stressing me out by being too excited… lol that sounds weird typing it out, but I am sure you understand!
I thought of just bringing my Maid/Matron of Honor, but kinda decided against it. I don’t care to have picture of me getting my hair and makeup done, so the photographer won’t be there either.
Just glad to know someone else is considering it as well.

I took my people with me, but we’re all very low key and none of us are morning people, so I actually got to close my eyes while my hair was being done. We had soft music on, and it was very, very peaceful. No one really acknowledged what day it was until we were at the church getting ready. It was lovely. But if I had hyper, excitable people, I would have gone by myself lol

Definitely do whatever you need to do to be in the right mindset and enjoy the day! I got ready with everyone on the day because it was fun and it kept my mind off of being nervous. But first I went for a long run and swim solo because it clears my head and calms me down.
It’s good to know what works best for you and go with it.
