So I had my hair trial today at a salon I was referred to by a friend, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the place! So much so that I’m going to be switching my hair and nails needs to the new place… I love when things work out!
So the salon I’m going to has a little room for the bridal party to get ready, and since it’s only me, mom, and 2 maids, we’ll get to have a little partay. I’m going to bring stuff for mimosas or bellinis, and they said a lot of times people bring some snacks and stuff. I want to bring some things to munch on, because I have blood sugar issues and I don’t want to crash, BUT I don’t want to bring stuff that’s going to make me feel puffy and gross. I was thinking some of those pain au chocolats from Trader Joe’s and fruit or something, but I need some suggestions! I want some fairly healthy nosh ideas that are kind of girly/brunchy.
Also – what did anyone wear to the salon to get ready? Obviously I can’t just flaunt around in a robe in public. I was thinking one of FI’s dress shirts and leggings with my new “wedding” Havaianas. Thoughts?

I would say you can’t go wrong with some nice cheese, quince paste and crackers! I am more a savoury person, though!
Another savoury is a nice dip, with some crudite veg and crackers.
The pain au chocolat do sound delicious, too!

I want to second the pain au chocolat idea! Some nice cheese and crackers (and maybe some nice meat slices like prosciutto) always pair nicely with mimosas and bellinis, and you can’t go wrong with a nice veggie tray. If you are worried about getting puffy, remember to sip on some water in-between the alcohol and snacks. Sounds like you gals are going to have fun getting ready!

I have blood sugar issues too and am in a similar situation with the salon. Our getting ready party is in the morning, so I’m going to bring bagels and cream cheese. The cream cheese is at least some protein, and I think I would be much happier with that then say doughnuts or muffins. Cheese is also a great option. Trial mix would be fun too if you leave the sugary ingredients out (maybe nuts, chex, peanut butter chips, pretzels, and a bit of dark chocolate). I’ll probably wear shorts (it will be really hot) and a cheap button down shirt for the salon. That way I don’t have to worry about the shirt getting ruined with makeup and hairproduct, and I won’t have to remove it over my head to put my wedding dress on.
