Yes, he asked what I wanted and I told him very detailed specifics

Yes, he asked what I wanted and I told him one or two guidelines

We went ring shopping together and he could see (ring shopping was HIS idea)

We went ring shopping together and he could see (ring shopping was MY idea)

We went ring shopping together and he could see (ring shopping was spontaneous or mutual decision)

No, and I regret not being more specific

No, but I'm not into jewelry and could care less

Yes, I told him what I wanted and he was very annoyed

Yes, I told him what I wanted without him asking and he was pleased

While we were dating I used to go through things I liked with him, because we knew we would get married someday.

The proposal was a surprise. He went alone and got the ring on his own and did great!

what we did isn’t actually an option here!  lol.  he picked most of it out.  we DID look at stones (online) together and he paid attention to my reactions to certain stones, and then started talking to the jeweler without my knowledge about customizing an existing design with some different detailing.  before he ok’d the work to be done with the jeweler, he chickened out on surprising me and ran his design and choice of stone by me to make sure i’d like it.  (i actually wasn’t sure i’d LOVE it at first, though i knew i’d like it, but it’s grown on me so strongly since then.  i wouldn’t have changed it for anything before anyway, but now i definitely wouldn’t.)

We looked at rings together after he proposed. We each wanted to choose our own rings. Also I like voting in polls. 😀

He wanted to know exactly what I liked. So I sent him the direct link to MoissaniteCo about a year before he finally proposed. Laughing

Luckily he really liked the style… I showed him some others I liked, too, but he preferred my original choice. And so that’s what I ended up with!

Originally, we got engaged without an engagement ring, then I wore my mother’s old engagement ring for a while, and then my husband and I went shopping together for new rings.  I found my engagement ring (and matching wedding band) online, told my husband that these were the rings I wanted, and the rest is history. lol  I had to work hard to convince him that these were actually what I TRULY wanted, though, because we had also been looking at a diamond set which would have been twice as expensive, and he was concerned that I was only settling to try to save him some money.

We went to the jeweler’s at his suggestion for me to help him figure out what I like. It ended up being more like me pointing out what I didn’t like, haha. Then he went from there to design the ring himself.

I tried to give him suggestions on the diamond to pick out… I suggested looking for a .3 or .4, H color, VS inclusions. He ended up getting a .52, J color, flawless, and I couldn’t be happier with it! He did such a good job!

There wasn’t an option for me. He picked it out and I love it. I AM into jewelry, but I feel like he knows me enough to get something I love (which he did!)

He let me contact the designer(s) and commision my rings(s) to my heart’s content. Then he paid for it!

I know it doesn’t sound very romantic, but I am VERY into jewelry. I’ve been studying jewelry design and metalsmithing for over 2 years now. So he was too intimidated to even think about choosing a ring for me.
