I, myself, look forward to having children and wish I was married, already to start.  However, make sure you’re wanting them for the right reasons.  I have to ask myself this a lot.  You mention alot of your friends are having children, make sure you do it when you and your Fiance are ready.  You have established that because of his job, you two need to be married.  If you’re worried about a waiting period after you go off the pill for your homones to equalize, you could consider other alternatives like charting your cycle or using other forms of contraceptives (condoms/other barriers) until then–just make sure you discuss this with your Fiance.

But I’m with you on having baby fever!  But alas, I cannot and will not for a very long time…atleast a couple years after I get married.

def not a bad idea to go off BC now – will allow your cycle to regulate before you are ready!

I don’t feel the same way but I agree with beekiss that you should make sure that you want a baby for the right reasons.  I know that when I see a bunch of babies around, I get twinges but overall, I really don’t want kids right now.

I’m with Janna19.  Getting back to regular cycles after coming off of birth control really varies between women.  I’ve heard some horror stories but fortunately things evened out pretty quickly for me.  And I’m like a broken record, but charting really helps you get a grasp on what’s going on, helps plan conception, helps you be armed with info for your doctor if conception doesn’t happen quickly.

I guess I didn’t have baby fever too long prior to TTC so I have no great words of wisdom.  Good luck, though!

I’d be careful with going off the pill now. For some women all it takes is a month and you’re right back to normal! go off in August or July but not now.

My FI’s friend just found out he’s gonna be a dad and his wife went off the pill and was preggo two weeks later. It happens. He was expecting like a 9 month period to go by before baby conception time.

if you really want to get pregnant right after the wedding, go off the pill now and use backup!  I went off the pill last may and wasn’t fully regular by the time I got pregnant in December (23-29 days long…varying period lengths)…but regular enough for TTC purposes..we just used condoms in the meantime and would only skip w/in a few days of my cycle start…you can read about the safe zone…as long as you are sure it’s a true cycle and not ovulatory…and go ahead and start PN vitamins now, too!
