(Closed) Getting students or vendors just starting out to do your wedding for cheap (NYC)

Hi everyone, 

I just got enagaged and am getting married in Brooklyn this June. We have a VERY tight budget ($8,000 for 80 guests). I am wondering if anyone in the NYC area has had any experience or has any recommendations for hiring hospitality students or brand new wedding vendors to do their wedding for very cheap to get experience or build their portfolio. I have found the Columbia bartending school that lets you hire bartenders for $18 per hour, which is great and we will definitely be using them but I was hoping to find more (wait staff, photographers, day of coordinator, lighting) that would fit our tiny budget. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Thanks dodie! I just tried it and good some very reasonable quotes. My venue is Akwaaba Mansion but we haven’t chosen a caterer yet.
