Awww, you’ve got the baby fever bad!

I made a conscious effort not to focus on it, because I didn’t want to get stressed out when and if it wasn’t happening (which I thought would be the case).

I lined up several projects to do during that time.  I made Mrs. Sunbeam’s veil, worked on thank you notes, and jumpstarted my fitness routine.

I also quickly learned to stay away from the TTC websites, because there was so much anxiety around them!

We decided that we much preferred the “if it happens, it happens” approach for sanity’s sake!

I JUST went through this!! I agree about staying away from the webites that are so super focused on TTC.

  • I caught up on TV shows and movies that I wanted to see. DVR is  BEAUTIFUL THING!
  • I read a couple of good books to occupy my brain.
  • I cooked huge meals.
  •  I cleaned.
  • My younger daughter was sick, so she was home entertaining me for a few days.
  • I shopped for shoes and makeup online.

I drove my husband nuts, too!! He must have rolled his eyes at me about a million times!!

I actually wound up taking the test early bc I have a really bad cold and was desperate to know if I could take something for it. I figured I would suffer for a few days of taking preg tests and not taking anything but Sudafed, but  the first day of my cold was my positive pregnancy test. That was four days ago! I still have a miserable cold, but I had a drs appt today and they confirmed it there.

I totally agree with Mrs. DG – I mean, it can be easier said than done, but we decided early on that I wouldn’t test early (to avoid finding about an early pregnancy that goes away) and that helped a lot.  I basically waited for my period  – I suppose I convinced myself it was going to take a while, which helped relieve the pressure, so it wasn’t until I turned to my husband and told him I was a few days late that I realized that I was probably pregnant!! (and I was!)

Congrats Miss Starlet!!

@Heathaah: I am sure it is hard to wait!  I think everyone’s suggestions of keeping busy are a good idea.  You don’t want it to become a monthly waiting game, so just catch up on TV, books, school work, even calling friends and family you have not caught up with in a while.  Otherwise it will drive you bonkers 🙂
