I tend to be an optimist, but Mr. Dan is a huge pessimist! I am constantly trying to bring up the lighter side of issues we have.

Fiance and I are both optimists. However, I’m an optimistic worry-wart. (I figure it will all work out the way it should, but that doesn’t stop me from mentally micromanaging everything.) FI’s optimism holds out for almost all things except for flying. Neither one of us enjoys it (thus our decision to honeymoon somewhere in North or South America!!!) but Fiance is always the one who is convinced we’re getting into a little tin box of death and asks me several times before take off if we’re going to be okay (and then follows that up with "Are you sure?" "How sure are you?"). We’re quite the duo…

Hubby is an optimist; I like to consider myself a realist. :o) I’m a very practical person. But if I had to pick, I probably lean more towards the pessimist side.

We are just like you and Mr. Bee. I wish I could be more optimistic like my hubby but alas…. I guess we balance eachother out.

We are both pretty optimistic although he’s a little more of a realist than I am.

I’m a pessimist and he’s an optimist.  I’m working on it though.  I want to be happy go lucky.. so that’s my current goal in self realization

I am definitely the optimist/idealist. I’m a little too naive at times and usually look for the happy, pretty, shiny side of things. He is the realist and tends to expect the worst out of situations. We even each other out most of the time.

It really depends on the subject at hand. I tend to look at trends and gauge the realistic possibilities…in terms of jobs and opportunities, I tend to be optimistic and assume that the best is yet to come. Fiance is the same way. Compared to him, I’m more pessimistic. But it’s really pretty evenly matched.

I’d say that I’m realist that waxes optimistic sometimes.  My fiance is probably the realist that hinges a little pessimistic sometimes.  So I guess we balance each other out as well.

And sorry about not committing fully to optimist/pessimist… I think my inner lawyer couldn’t handle making a choice without qualifying it. Law school has ruined me

My Fiance is the optimistic side of our couple, however he also is the rational one.  I am the pessimistic/doubting Thomas of the two of us, I am also one that can be a little dramatic from time to time.  His optimism and his ability to be soooo darned rational has helped me to take a step back and look at things from different points of view (most of the time).  I also think we balance each other out very well.  Even if his rationality sometimes takes the wind out of my sails from time to time.

I’m an optimist and he’s a pessimist. Sometimes it bothers me that he can’t see how blessed and lucky we are — he’s always focusing on the bad parts of our life instead of the good ones!

My husband is more optimistic than I am. I can usually see the bright side of things, but I don’t believe that they will happen and/or they’re too good to be true.
