@Kaitywaity:  If he’s traumatized, then I wouldn’t be pressuring him. That doesn’t sound fair to him 🙁

It’s best to leave it alone and not pressure him. The more you insist, the more he’s going to pull back. Other than an open honest discussion of if he plans to get married at some point…

badgering him for a ring is only going to kill the surprise if there was ever going to be one and put him off.

I would have an open discussion about his fears-in a nonthreatening way. it may be a good idea for him to seek some type of counselling. If he does propose at some point, he may start comparing both times, which you wouldn’t want.
