I wouldn’t go a wedding on a Monday, but that’s just me. I wouldn’t take the vacation day, or rush home from work to go to a wedding where I wouldn’t get home until later that night and still have to wake up early for work the next day.

If it weren’t in summer, I wouldn’t attend – can’t take days off work.  People who aren’t in school jobs will probably have that issue.  If you’re prepared to have a smaller guest list than expected, go with the date you want.  If you’d rather have more of the guests you invite show up, then pick a weekend and make 24/7 something else special for the two of you.

Agree with PPs, I would really consider declining a Monday wedding. I don’t mind taking a day off to attend a wedding (such as a Friday wedding or if I have to travel), but when the wedding finishes of an evening I have to go back to work the next day it’s not ideal.

I’d probably only consider attending a Monday wedding if it was for immediate family.  It really isn’t ideal for those who need to take time off, travel and return to work the following day.

mikaylaserenaa:  I wouldn’t attend a Monday wedding unless it was someone I am very close to. What about 4/22/17? Still contains the 2, 4, and 7.

mikaylaserenaa:  I’d come if you were my brother, sister, or best friend and if the wedding was local to me. But I’d leave by like 9 because I go to bed by 10 on week nights.

Will that make less people coming because of having to take more time off work?

Yes.  But if you don’t care about people showing up, by all means have your wedding on a Monday.

My wedding was on a Monday.  We had a smaller destination wedding in RI, and knew that most people wouldn’t be able to make it except for close friends and family, so we deliberately kept the wedding guest list small.  Like you, I really liked a specific set of numbers for our wedding date.

Just know if you have a Monday wedding, that most likely most of your guest list will not be able to make it.  Also keep your bridal party in mind….I would vet when you ask them if they can make a Monday wedding, and if they have to step down to just be a guest or not come, be ok with that too.
