@Extension54:  Ok this is probably fairly out there but there is a seminary pretty close to the center of town and they have a beautiful chapel.  A few times I’ve been to visit there have been concerts going on in the the chapel and they’ve been pretty great.

Check out the Majestic Theatre in town – it’s your best bet for entertainment!  http://www.gettysburgmajestic.org

You can also walk the college grounds, they’re beautiful (it’s my alma mater, so maybe I’m a little biased).  They also have lots of talks and concerts and things free and available to the public, depending on what time of year you go.

The best restaurants have an historical edge, but they’re good regardless!

And even if you’re not into history, there are beautiful places to go walking and sight seeing – devils den, little round top, etc – skip the tours and just go for a walk, perhaps, or book a horse trail ride.

Best thing – Ghost tours!  Again, mainly historical (you really can’t avoid this), but so much fun.

Why not just embracet he history, even if you’re not civil war people?  It’s still fun, even if you’re not history buffs, and it would be a waste to go to Gettysburg and miss out on all of the stuff.

@Extension54:  Well that makes sense!  I’m no fan of guided tours anywho 🙂

We live about 20 minutes from Gettysburg and the last time we were there we did a ghost tour and it was so fun! You could always take a day and go to Hershey Park too if you’re not set on staying in Gettysburg/if it interests you at all.

Honeymoon suite for $25?! Wow!!

@mjoyelle:  Ah! You beat me to the Majestic!!

My FI and I have seen multiple operas there…perhaps not your or FI’s cup of tea, but if they have a showing of the Met Live in HD it is totally worth it just for a taste of something different!

You could also see if there are any wineries in the area where you could do wine tastings and tours.
