- Wedding: October 2017
This is kind of long. So here we go:
Our dj for our wedding is the dj that my best friend used at his wedding. Because we liked him, when we started looking for a dj in May, I reached out to him. He gave me pricing and then our original venue burned down and I went into crisis mode because of that. We found another venue and I emailed the dj again in June to let him know we’d like to use him. He said because he knew my friends and I, so long as I sent in the deposit with the contract by 9/1, the date was ours – we didn’t talk again. So we sent the deposit, contract, and the wedding music request sheet from his website in the second week of August and I sent a follow up email a week later when my fiance noticed the check wasn’t deposited. Silence. I called him this past week and left a voicemail indicating I haven’t heard from him and because I need to know what kind of food that he’d like (we’re having a plated dinner). Silence. What do I do? My best friend said that the dj has 7 kids and has been really busy, which is fine, but he also runs a business and isn’t responding. I am a planner and the lack of communication is stressing me the eff out – this is the only thing I’ve stressed about this entire process. Am I being a crazy person? Or should he be responding?
