Let me know how this works out for you/what you find out. We are getting married in Irwin and until a family friend agreed to make our cake for significantly less than she originally quoted us I was strongly considering a GE cake. I’ve had their cakes for graduations and whatnot and I know they’re good, I’m just not sure what the decorating is like. I can’t imagine it’d be a bad idea!

What is their pricing like?

I’m no help, but I just had the best time picturing a cake shaped like a Giant Eagle!

Sorry, no wedding cake, but… I’m from the Cleveland area and we have Giant Eagle.  I’ve had cakes for babyshowers and birthdays from them and they’re GOOD!  If you had a simple design, and maybe a smaller “show cake” with sheet cake given for the rest of the guests, I would think it would work out good.

It probably won’t be super fancy, but they have been consistently good, dependable service, and easy to work with.  That’s my 2 cents.

One of my girlfriends got a cake from the Eagle for her wedding! She used one of those styrofoam cakes for the reception (where only part of the “cake” is real) and her venue sliced her Giant Eagle sheet cake to serve to the guests. I LOVE their cake anyway, and my friend said it was very affordable. If I remember correctly, they did a cream cheese frosting on the sheet cake, and since the styrofoam cake was white with white decoration, no one was the wiser. Hope this helps!

Some stores/decorators might be better than others but just inquire at the bakery counter.  Regardless of which store, the flavors of the cakes and icings are all standard across the chain.

And in my opinion – their cakes are the best!!

I’ve never had a wedding cake from them, but their cakes that I’ve had for showers and parties are AWESOME!  My guess is that they’d do just as good of a job on a wedding cake, if not better!

Oh, I thought this was going to be a picture of a wedding cake shaped like a giant eagle. Oops!
