Food. A nice fruit basket, or goodie basket.

Honestly, all the flowers and stuffed animals are just a PITA to lug out of the hospital in my opinion. The best gift I got was from my co-workers who sent me a big basket of fruit. It was lovely!

Food is always a win! lol

A few prepared meal, frozen, so she won’t have to cook.  Food is a best gift for a tired, new mom, IMO.

Agreed – Food. I always take a lasagna they can make the same day or another day, and a ceasar salad and french bread. Or if they really want something that day like take out I will pick that up.

Food if you know they have the capacity to use or store it. A gift card for takeout from one of their favorite restaurants, otherwise.

I’ve done this twice now and both times it went over really well – A bagel / deli basket.

A dozen bagels, lox, cream cheese.  1lb of turkey, 1lb roast beef, 1/2 lb swiss cheese.  Easy to through together a sandwich, and has yummy things the mom couldn’t have when she was pregnant.

SunC19:  I love to go nuts in my local organic health food store and get baby supplies. My sister made onesies for her friend’s twins with iron on transfers of their parents on their wedding day saying “And 9 months later…” It was cute. 🙂
