I gotta get something for my step father and I can NOT think of anything. He’s been around since I was 10 yrs old but we haven’t exactly had the best of relationships. While growing up I nicknamed him The Grinch, because his heart is 2 sizes too small- get the idea? He’s not warm and fuzzy, he’s gruff and stoic.
Hooowever, he is paying for the majority of the wedding (no clue where that kindness came from) so- gotta get him something! And I want it to be meaningful but not cheesy, make sense? HELP!
Oh yeah, you’re probably wondering if he has any hobbies… Collecting cars, which is something I’m not prepared to help out with! Lol. He used to like golf, and brewing beer (which he doesn’t drink), other than that: I got nothin’

If he’s paying for the majority of this wedding then maybe he cares for you more than you think. Maybe he’s all rough on the outside and a teddy bear underneath? Either way, I think it’s very generous of him and your mother. I think you should treat them to something. Get him tickets to a favorite band/musician/comedian. Or you can rent a cabin at a rural place that’s close enough to drive to so he can relax, fish or do whatever he wants. However I do think you should get him something nice, so you and your fiance can show your appreciation.

Yeah I definitely want to get him something nice because we really really appreciate his generosity. We realize he didn’t have to do anything at all. I think you came up with a great idea though! A trip somewhere, somewhere rural would be perfect. He likes the Adironacks. Thanks! I’m not sure how much extra money we’ll have by then though, we might need something a little more moderately priced. Since we are still paying for some of the wedding that is still a concern.
