Hi bees. I have a wedding coming up next week. It’s going to be held on long island in her very small backyard. The couple will be getting married in a church and then her recpetion will be in her backyard for about 75-90 people.
Im just wondering, being that living on long island most weddings cost a lot, how much would you put in the envelope for a gift? I used to be very close to the bride and we lost touch for about 10 years, but now we have been closer over the past couple. I dont know the groom.
I should mention that at her reception, there will not be anything really to eat except wraps and salad and i think she is ordering a cake. No alcohol or anything which is fine. A few other guests and I have already anticipated that we will need to go out afterwards to eat too since there really wont be anything abundant to eat.
I dont want to be cheap with her but i also want to be practical. I cant see myself giving anything extravagent like i would normally do in a typical catering hall. Any thoughts?
