I know I’m not in october, though sometimes I wish I had more time! lol I just wanted to give you an idea of what i did and why i like your pin up idea.

I commissioned a nude painting. My face isnt detialed so only one who knows I had this done of me would know it was me. I wanted art not porn. I did this because Fiance makes me feel beautiful in my own skin. It served as a token of us well. That’s why I like your pin up idea. It serves who you are now. One day it will serve as a testament to your youth. In a sense you give him your eternal youth. Im sure with the theme being a common thing for you two and the fact that they are fun and from the heart he will treasure them forever.

I’m also not an October bride, but I am giving my Fiance a tie clip.  One one side it has our initials and the other an infinity sign.  He is a phd student in Math, so it works perfect for us!

I got my idea from pinterest! It is one prepaid date per month for the first year of our marriage! I broke it down into 3 categories, at home dates, nearby/not too expensive dates, and out on the town/more expensive dates.  I picked things like a camping trip, a cooking class, a trip to the indoor rock climbing gym in philly, a trip to a local shooting range, a cookout in the backyard for just the two of us… Things we’ve been saying we’d eventually do, but still have not done for whatever reason. I’ve been working hard on this, and look at it as a way to enjoy each month of our first year of marriage. I can’t promise him it will be easy, or always fun, but I can guarantee 12 awesome dates throughout the year! I’ll let him open one envelope per month, explaining what the next date is. There will be a letter inside, as well as gift cards or cash to pay for our date.

It’s kinda cheesy, but Fiance is so hard to shop for – he doesn’t like jewelry (his wedding band will be the first piece of jewelry he’s ever owned)  and doesn’t really like electronics… This just seemed right to me. Hopefully he’ll like it!

We aren’t exchanging gifts. We both agree that our “gifts” are ourselves and a beautiful wedding 🙂

My Fiance doesn’t like jewelery and isn’t a fancy person but he LOVES his soccer team and I was able to find cufflinks with that team.

My Darling Husband is obsessed with knives, so I got him a really special pearl-handled pocket knife made with damascus steel.  It is something he will have forever, was beautiful and wedding-y, and he can pass it on.  I would get something personal like that that could be a heirloom.

I keep trying to take him watch shopping as an engagement gift, but he’s terrible at going shopping! (It was his idea that he gets a watch, but I love it. It’s fair, and I can picture him showing all his friends. Cute.)

So if I can’t get him to go before the wedding, I’ll pick it out and have my Maid/Matron of Honor deliver it as a surprise with a note. He would like that I think.
