What about a personal grooming kit or something? Or a gift cert. to a male spa/to a nice shaving place?

@hilsy85: good idea.

Have you heard of the Art of Shaving?

http://www.theartofshaving.com/

You can buy stuff or a cert for a visit to have them shave you. I know many “high maintenance” people who love this!

If he’s into “manly” accessories and things, perhaps a high-end traditional shaving set with the silver brushes with maybe a leather kit bag for it? I think I saw something like at at Restoration Hardware over Christmas and they may still have it. Or perhaps a dresser valet/dresser tray in leather or silver? I got Mr PP one last V-Day and it was a huge hit – he keeps it on our dresser for holding his keys, wallet, loose change, etc. when he empties out his suit pockets at the end of the day. Good luck!

I’ve almost made the wallet mistake before, they only switch wallets if they need to. They like them broken in hahaha, when I didn’t buy one last Christmas Future Mother-In-Law did, and it’s still sitting collecting dust. He doesn’t like it because it’s from an ex, he likes it because it is perfectly formed to his butt. haha

Have you ever been to Xperiencedays.com?

It’s all experience gifts like helicopter rides, wine tours, sky diving, flying lessons, different classes etc. organized by city. It’s all things he would never even think to do himself, and something cool you could do together. I got an ex a canoe tour down the Charles for like $80 and it was the coolest thing ever. Definitely check it out.

Tickets to a concert or game her likes?

Dinner of his favorite foods?

“coupons” for things he likes (naughty or not)

by “high maintenance” do you mean you want it be a physical thing for him to use day to day?

My sweethearts grandfather recently passed away, and for christmas I’m going to get him a painting with his grandfather and possibly him too, painted into the scenery…It pretty amazing, because you look at the picture and it looks nice, and all of a sudden you realize your loved one is part of the painting…it becomes more special…
