My friend is graduating from Nursing School on Saturday. I am trying to figure out what to give her.
Does it have to be related to Nursing, or can it be personal? I ask, because she likes photography. I was thinking of maybe a book with very pretty snap shots in it.
Whatever gift I get her I am going to add a packaged dill pickle to it. It goes back to when we were in college….we both loved pickles and used to stop by the store (which we named “The Pickle House”) to buy one all of the time. It’ll make for a great laugh and bring back old memories.

Speaking as someone who is graduating on this weekend….. MONEY. That is what I appreciate the most! I know it sounds unoriginal but seriously, whether it’s $20, $50, $100 or more, I would rather buy whatever I want than have something I may not need. Especially in this economy. I’m using the money I’ve already gotten for food, professional clothes, and other necessities because that’s the most important for me right now.
If you really want to get her something that’s not money that she’ll appreciate, buy some cool scrubs though, since that fits under professional clothes but is hard to be messed up by getting something not her taste.

I am graduating from nursing school next Saturday and I just want to throw my two cents in on this one. I agree that money is a great gift for a college graduate. I know college has drained my bank account. Also I would be hesitant on the scrubs, unless you get her a gift card to get scrubs with. All the hospitals where I live are going to a color coded scrub system and RNs have a specific color they are required to wear but it can differ based on hospital.
