I was Maid/Matron of Honor & I gave my friend $300 cash. How much you give really depends on how much you can afford especially since you probably had to spend money on other things for the wedding. Honestly I think people prefer cash. Also, I think you being by her side throughout the planning and the wedding day is a gift in itself. Maybe write a nice note in the wedding card. Those are always nice & personal 🙂

I’ve been gifting hand blown glass vases for several weddings now.  They’re more personal as you can get favorite colors and, of course, the handmade part.  I wouldn’t have appreciated the spa day or anything similar either, but getting my own vase was on my ‘want’ list for years now.  It was my wedding gift from my parents.  Is there a local artisan of some sort near you?  I’m also a big fan of giant baskets of stuff.  A few fun movies, special snacks, fuzzy slippers, local brewed sodas (or beer), you get the idea.  I’d be saddened by getting cold hard cash from a super close friend as it screams no thought/easy out to me.  that’s for people who don’t know you as well or live too far away

One of my bridesmaids got me an engraved ring box and I loved it! She also got us an engraved door knocker!

I think that cash is great, especially as thats what she needs and its great that you are being so supportive. If you wanted to give something small and personal as well you could get her something small for the honeymoon itself like a cosmetic bag or sunglasses or a cover up.
