My mom will not be meeting my future mother in law until the weekend of our wedding- which is in Puerto Rico. My fiancee is Puerto Rican and most of his family still lives there. My mom and his mom have emailed a few times but nothing more. My mom wanted to get her something to give to her at the wedding, something symbolic of their new relationship. Any ideas?

I would keep the gift small. There’s nothing worse than receiving a big gift and feeling bad afterward because you didn’t reciprocate. How about an inexpensive bracelet or a picture frame?

Is there anything unique from your hometown? For example, there’s a really great candy store here where they make homemade candy and its amazing, and unique to my hometown. Something thoughtful like that would be nice. Or maybe some kind of jewelery, but I agree with PP not too expensive.
