So I am slacker, well not really, I just haven’t had a chance to go baby shower shopping. My friends baby shower is in 2 weeks. She registered at 2 places and everything on her registry is gone! The only thing left is her Boyfriend or Best Friend pump whic I am not spending $400 on and she has some giftbottle sets on there that are about $29.00. I normally buy off the registry as I know people put things on there that they need, so I hate to be that person that gets her MORE cloths and more blankets and stuff she doesn’t need.
I figured I could get her the bottle set and a few more small things like toys, but my Mom thinks it looks tacky and its literally the last thing on her registry and I’m sure she is going to know I was the person who waited till the last min. I plan on spending about $50-60 on her, I just don’t know what to get her.
I am expecting in 2 months and there are some things she didn’t put on her regristy that I put on, such like a baby carrier, would it be weird for me to get that for her, even though it’s not on her registry. I just don’t know what to get her. I wanted to get something personalized but we don’t know the baby name yet. The only other option is a frame that she has on there but it’s $70 and again I look like a tool for giving the last min cheesy gift.

Why dont you just get her a gift card to a baby/mother store. That way she can choose whatever she wants

You could get the bottle set- she obviously wants it if she put it on her registry. Then, supplement it with something cute.
Does she live in the city? Get a copy of Urban Babies Wear Black- a storybook for city babies
also get a black baby watch cap and a pair of sunglassess
If she lives in the country-Country Babies Wear Plaid -a check shirt and a pair of jeans

I wouldn’t buy her a baby carrier. There’s a reason she didn’t put it on her registry. Either she doesn’t want one, or she’s like me and wants the baby to be born first so we can try out which ones we like best with her in it.
I would stick with the bottles, even if it’s obviously last minute its still something she really needs! Also, I didn’t register for clothes b/c I knew people would buy them for me, and I’m glad they did. Otherwise I’d have to do all that shopping or my baby would be naked! Just make sure you get bigger sizes, they grow out of newborn quickly!

Get her the bottles since she registered for them, maybe a cute picture book that’s meaningful with a dedication from you, and then a gift card to make up the difference. You can always pick her up a monogrammed blanket after the baby arrives once you know the name.

What about children’s books? That’s usually my go-to gift. I’ll get something on the registry (or a cute onesie) then some books. I like to think of it as setting up baby’s first library. And it always goes over well at the shower (ooh, I loved that book when I was little. That’s such a cute idea!).

If I can’t buy from the registry I usually just get them more diapers and wipes in the brand they asked for on their registry. It’s not like they won’t use them!
