Yeah happens all the time!

so you can basically choose 3 options

say “ooh it’s different to the one I wear” and then show him online the different boxes – hopefully he’ll notice things aren’t straightforward in the world of shopping for girlie stuff. But personally I’d still make out you’re delighted. To spare his feelings.

Say nothing but thank you.

or tell him he’s fucked up and explain why.

I favour the first as he’ll hopefully note the details for next time but not hurt his feelings. It’s a shame you didn’t get the perfume you wanted but it’s just one of those things and he’s trying to treat you to something nice.

Ps – giving the perfume to a charity shop or secretly ebaying it are options!

atkaaaa11 :  yes I know it well my mum wore it for years. I do actually like it but it’s very distinctive and strong and I think you have to really love it to ‘get away with it’ if you know what I mean.  I like strong smells but don’t wear it because it reminds me of my mum going out!

Poison smells like your grandmother??? then you have a very young, hip or unusual grandmother lol

poison is a unique perfume, its the strongest ive ever come across and very sharp smelling and terrible for migrane sufferers – if you dont like it dont wear it but its certinly not a standard grannyfied perfume, it is mostly common among the 40s and 50s age group because it was highly popular between the young 15-25 crowd back when it was released 1985

atkaaaa11 :  I have smelled dior poison and I had a sample which I used for special occasions 😊

I like the fact that it is a long lasting perfume, classic, mostly for nights or winter days. Just don’t use too much off it. Overall I like it

I had a similar experience with a Chanel scent and ultimately it was just so strong it made me nauseous and gave me a terrible headache when I wore it. If you can’t bring yourself to wear it maybe just tell him you’re not having a good reaction to it. Maybe find a friend who likes it and give it away.

Sell it on eBay. You won’t get back the full price but it’s a popular fragrance so you should be able to get something for it.
