I’m trying to figure out how to word the invitations for our gift opening party the day after our wedding. my family will be hosting a cook out for us to open our gifts. its nothing fancy but i’m just not sure how to word it. i found some cute stationary with gifts on the paper so i thought that would be perfect to use for the invites! Any suggestions please let me know 🙂

Instead of calling it a “gift opening party”, why don’t you just say that it’s the “day after BBQ” or something? I don’t know if having a gift opening party is traditional, but I know some couples open their wedding gifts at the day after brunch.

To be honest, I have always hated the thought of “gift opening parties”.
It seems like a public comparison of gifts to me.
If it’s tradition where you live, then people will probably know the gift opening is on the agenda, so you can just invite them for BBQ Brunch.

@julies1949: Its my in laws that have nicely decided to throw me this so its not like i want to be rude and say no we are not having it. they asked me what I would like the invite to say so i’m trying to come up with something. I just wanted “wording” ideas not everyones personal opinion wether they liked the idea of the party!!!! 🙂
