2 is practically expected. I’d be impressed if you could find everything you wanted at one store! I think more than 4 is pushing it. But 2 is fine, hon. πŸ™‚

I say 2 is totally fine, even 3 is common for those unique, strange, or hard-to-find items that you just really want. Like PP said, 4+ is a bit much IMOH, but 2 is very common. Shop away! πŸ™‚

Most weddings I got to have registered at 2 places. I will be registering at 3!

I’d also say two to three is common. I don’t think I’ve ever seen just one. Plus, two to three registries allows guests options especially if they feel strongly about shopping at certain stores (ie. some people always buy their wedding gifts from Macy’s/Crate and Barrel/etc.).

Everything I’ve read suggests to register at AT LEAST two places, if not three or four, to cover a wide variety of price ranges.  Between my FI’s family and mine, we are registered at 4 places, because we needed to cover a pretty wide range of prices.  I’ve also found that when people are buying wedding gifts, they like to buy at the places that appeal to them most.  For example, if a friend has a 9-page registry at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but is only registered for a few things at a place like Crate & Barrel or Williams-Sonoma, I’ll go to Crate & Barrel or Williams-Sonoma every time.  Usually these are the items that are a bit more coveted and maybe not the run of the mill “we need these to get our lives started” items that have a little more pizzazz and appeal.  Just my opinion!

We registered at 3 places.. and most people I know have registered at 3 or 4, so 2 is totally fine. Go for it!

@pandaboo:OMG, enjoy that registry day.  It’s SO fun.  The only part that sucks is a lot of their home stuff (that isn’t furniture) is seasonal.  We have lots of gorgeous fall-colored items on our registry, all of which I know will be unavailable by the time our parties/showers start, so we already know we’ll have to go back in the spring to re-register for some things.

C&B also does registry breakfasts for couples on some Sunday mornings (at least in my area they do), where they open the store early for just engaged couples to browse and register for things, see product demonstrations, etc.  They even serve cocktails and have bacon stations, omlette bars, and waffle stations.  When we registered and the store employee was explaining to us about these events, a girl in line said “that was by far my favorite part of registering…I highly recommend going to one”.  We’re excited to go in February!

Like the previous girls said, two is almost to be expected these days.

I had soooo much fun registring at C&B. Enjoy! (And let your Fiance let you use the scanner gun a few times! Wink)

We are planning on doing 3! Probably Macy’s and Bed Bath & Beyond for the essentials, and Crate & Barrel for fun stuff. Like akp0702 said, I have heard Crate & Barrel’s stock can change quite often when it comes to seasons so I am nervous about when to register there. I think we will do the first two soon and then wait til after the holidays for C&B. I see your wedding is a week before mine, when are you planning on registering? Just curious, because I really have no clue when is appropriate! πŸ™‚
