it’s normal to exchange gifts! cufflinks or a watch are pretty standard gifts for the groom and something he can wear the day of.

It depends on the couple.. I know some that buy extravagant gifts for each other, some not at all.  Sometimes the groom or bride buys a gift, but not the other person.  I’ve noticed that some grooms I talk to give a gift on the honeymoon just to make it special.  There is no rule either way though.

I got my husband a nice watch so he could wear it on the wedding day – I told me not to get me anything – I mean he got me the ring already and I didn’t want him spending more $$$$.

Actually, it depends on the couple. You don’t HAVE to exchange gifts. We decided that we wouldn’t, but I surprised my hubby with a special engraving on his band,  garters of our fave basketbal team, and an engraved bracelet.

we decided to buy a nice digital camera for each other instead of exchanging gifts…we wanted to be able to capture all our special moment – wedding – honeymoon – babies (one day)

My cousin exchanged letters and video games. Well, he got her a camera and she got him COD. The pictures of him seeing it for the first time and jumping up and down like a little girl were awesome.

@FallBee1: HE went through the entore ceremony not knowing about it. After the ceremony, when we had a few minutes alone, I told him to check the inside of his ring. He loved it.
