I am having this problem, too! Flowers are really expensive so I am not getting the reader (fiance’s uncle) a bouttonniere but I will probably get a gift card to a restaurant for him and his wife and kids.

It’s hard to say what kind of gift you should get for your reader. If you think she is into stationary, get it. I love stationary but I never use it! I personally don’t even know what a book embosser is.

We’re doing small gifts – about $25 max – for our 3 readers, and a slightly bigger one for our officiant (also a friend). I don’t think we’re going to do bouts/corsages, though.

@mrsSonthebeach:  Oh, well that’s pretty cool then. I have a ton of books, too, I think that’s a pretty unique idea!

By the way, we are date twins! 3/3/12, yay!

we were going to give them flowers but ended up changing our minds. We gave them $25 gift cards

I’ve been a reader a few times and never received flowers. I didn’t assume that I would. I only received a gift once and it was a thoughtful sweet surprise. It wasn’t necessary, but very much appreciated.
