We just recently attended a wedding in Hawaii. When I asked the bride before the wedding where they registered, she said they did not want to receive any gifts and were happy that we were able to come.
We brought a signed card to the wedding with a sentimental message inside, but I do want to get them a gift. They already live together and own a home. They love to grill and host parties – do the Bees think that a nice serving platter from Crate and Barrel along with a set of blending grilling spices (www.thespicehouse.com) would be a welcome gift?

Sounds like a WONDERFUL and thoughtful gift (can tell you put your heart into it)
BUT to be really honest…
When it comes to Destination Weddings AND / OR a Bride who doesn’t Register a lot of time that is a cue / clue that the couple would much prefer a Monetary Gift (they didn’t say that, cause asking is most certainly RUDE)
So that is always an alternative.
BUT to be sure, as an Etiquette Snob around these parts… I can tell you that a Boxed Gift is still appropriate… despite what some other Bees might tell you.
The rule of thumb is a Couple can invite you to a Wedding… but they cannot tell you (dicatate) what you bring.
Hope this helps,

I think your gift sounds wonderful & very personal. I’m sure they will love it!
I’m a destination wedding bride who didn’t register and truly does not expect gifts (monetary or other wise) but we have been very thankful to anyone who has given us a gift and will be sending out nice thank yous after the wedding.
