I am having trouble figuring out what to get my bridesmaids…
I want to do something cute, maybe something original, and most importantly, something they will actually like!
Some ideas I have had were personalized robes, spa gift certificates, or jewelery. I don’t want to spend a whole ton but do want to get something special.
I don’t know if it makes a difference but I’m already paying for their dress, hair, makeup, & nails. I’m asking that they each choose their own jewelry, to let them reflect their personal style.
Oh, and I have a nontraditional bridal party with 3 regular bridesmaids, a “man of honor” and a 12 yro jr bridesmaid….
What to get…..?

Since you’re paying for their dress, hair and makeup I would just do something really small. I only have one bridesmaid and I’m giving her a necklace from Tiffany- however, I did not pay for her dress and my mom is a hairstylist so hair will be free.

I got them day of jewelry (it’s simple so they can wear it somewhere else) and I got my Maid/Matron of Honor a hair comb to differentiate her from the others.
I also bought them different coach wristlets, “day of survival kit” – it includes things like makeup that they can use again and not only use for that day and I am making my Maid/Matron of Honor a photobook of all of the things that we have done together over the years.

@HourThyme: I have got each of them a trinket box from an Etsy seller here is the link.
And I am ordering them a bracelet to put in the box from this site. Here is the link.
I wanted to keep it from breaking the bank. I figure each in total will cost about $150 for each girl, since I am also purchasing their dresses, and paying for hair and makeup if they choose. I am paying for their lodging for the weekend also, so I am not making extravagant gift choices. I will do a matching simple ribbon around the box for presentation.

I got mine necklaces with their initials, a clutch and a robe/PJ set. I’ll also pay for their hair.

I also paid for dresses, hair and makeup for my girls. I bought them all a different pair of earrings to wear on the day (and they all still wear them after the wedding) and matching robes to get ready in. The girls that travelled also had free accommodation for the trip.
After the wedding I bought them all silver picture frames and gave them a few pictures from the wedding that could go in it, some bath and body works stuff, chocolates and the movie bridesmaids on DVD.
I wanted to get them more, but I spent almost $200 on each dress and then €50 for hair and €50 for makeup so I thought that was enough.

You girls are generous!!!
I am already spending so much right now, dress was $250, hair and makeup will be at least another $100, nails $50.. Was kinda hoping to keep it under $100… for a grand total of $500
I love my maids but honestly, no one has really been helping with anything.
My Maid/Matron of Honor is planning the bachelorette party after some prodding
My cousin is helping my mom with the shower (and tattling when things go wrong)
One of my maids is not even coming to the shower or bachelorette party –bc she would have to fly in, even though I flew to her Vegas bachelorette party…..

@HourThyme: I only have a Maid/Matron of Honor and one bridesmaid, and I got them each a necklace from Tiffany with their first initial engraved on the front. Both gifts came out to about $275. I’m paying for the bridesmaid’s hair but she declined professional makeup. My Maid/Matron of Honor wanted to do her own hair/makeup. I’ll also pay for manis/pedis the morning of.
Personally I think it’s nice to get your ladies a gift that is separate from anything wedding-related, and as long as it’s personal the cost doesn’t matter at all. I just think paying for wedding-related stuff without something additional is sort of like your Darling Husband buying you lingerie for your birthday. Sure, it’s ostensibly for you but we all know it’s really a gift to him. 😉

Allrighty, did some re-thinking.
How about this:
For my 3 regular bridesmaids: A purse (http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/michael-michael-kors-handbag-kempton-nylon-small-tote?ID=665416&CategoryID=26846&swatchColor=Navy) in a color that they like and inside a green pashmina (my wedding color) and a pretty flask. And also a nice note.
For my JR bridesmaid: A purse (the same, lucky 12 yr old), the pashmina, and a water bottle, and a nice note
For my Man of Honor: ?????

I have 5 Bridesmaid or Best Man they are all getting robes (I picked colors that I thought they’d like best) and necklaces. I’m also paying for their hair and makeup though that really isn’t a gift.
They bought their own dresses and they can wear whatever shoes they want since they’re long.
If you bought their dress I’d just do something small.

@HourThyme: I think that purse is SUPER generous, especially given that you are paying for their umm… EVERYTHING, pretty much. If I were you, I would just gift them something like the pashmina, a scented candle or some sort of little trinket like that, and maybe a cute piece of jewelry that you know they will like.
For my bridesmaids I am going a little gift crazy. I just had my bridal shower and gave my Maid/Matron of Honor:
a Diamond Candle
a rose-gold plated ring that says ‘love’:
an umbrella in her favorite color (for her next “shower”), a lotion with a scent that has a lot of history with us and some chocolates. She did a majority of the planning/prep with help from another Bridesmaid or Best Man who provided the space, so I gifted her with the same stuff, minus the ring.
My other BM’s got the umbrella, chocolates and a scented candle. They all got a personalized thank you note for making my shower special.
As far as the wedding presents, they paid for their own dresses and have the option of getting hair and make up done professionally with the team coming to do my services, but they are responsible for those costs. I am still gathering gifts for them, but so far they are getting: one of those floral robes from Etsy (SO CUTE), lotions/sprays from Bath & Body, lip gloss from VS, a cute and frilly apron, a pretty eco-friendly tote to put it all in. There might be more that I have gathered along the way, but I have probably forgotten about them until I go into my stash lol. I also am toying with the idea of getting them some Coach or Vera Bradley wristlets (depending on each girls’ individual taste) as I live a little over an hour from those outlet stores.
Sorry for the book.

@Nurse_Bee: LOVE your ideas! wow, you are another generous one!
I actually really like the umbrella idea too!
