What is the protocol/etiquette for gifts for his parents? They are not paying for a single thing (which is fine, they can’t quite frankly) so I’m not sure what we’d give them. I see the parents gift as something that is a token of thanks for all they’ve done for the wedding, which is why we’re focused on what to get my parents. Is it appropriate to get them something small, or do we skip it?

I think that something small and sentimental would be great for the ILs. Maybe a nicely framed photo of their side of the family would be great. I always thought of it as more of a “thanks for raising my great husband” type of thing, so I think sentimental is the way to go.

@tksjewelry: That’s a good point. And a great gift idea. Thank you 🙂

We’re doing photo books (probably through MixBook) for both sets of parents, and gift cards for a nice dinner out.
