I’m hoping to find some gift ideas for my lovely friends who threw me a bachelorette weekend. Darling Husband and I opted not to have a bridal party because we weren’t into the idea of picking and choosing friends, or of “requiring” our friends to do/buy a bunch of stuff for the wedding, which was very low key. But of course my friends went above and beyond *anyway* and planned an amazing weekend for me. (Did I mention that I’m a lucky gal?)
I’m way behind schedule here, I realize (6 months!! gah) but I want to come up with something that shows my gratitude. There are 6 ladies, one of whom hosted the whole gang at her house for the weekend. I’m willing to do up to about $50 per lady, with a little extra wiggle room for the awesome friend who hosted.
So, help me please? I’ve only been a bridesmaid once, and I got some el-cheapo jewelry that I never wore after the wedding and an assortment of makeup in colors that don’t suit me at all. (Not a great point of reference!) I could do one big thing each, like a spa/salon gift card, except that I’m not sure where all of them prefer to go. Or I could do a series of small things (hand cream, candle, compact mirror, etc — tailored to each gal) in a pretty bag. Or something totally different. Just looking for ideas on what would be most appreciated!

If you find a nice spa that does multipel services (nails, massage, hair, make up, ect) I think the salon is a nice thing to do. Thats what I did for my shower hostesses. Since the offer multiple services, if a girl really likes her hair stylest and wouldn’t think of going any where else for her hair, she can get her nails done, or a facial, or something else that they would not normally have done.

Misswhowedding: The salon thing is a lovely idea, but the biggest issue is actually where they all live… the 6 of them are spread across 4 different states (none of which I live in), so I would have to hunt down 4 different salons based on internet reviews alone. And 3 of the 6 girls live in reeeally remote areas where it’s unlikely that there are many options that aren’t going to be a long drive. Sorry for not explaining all of the logistics before, my original post was already getting to be kind of a mouthful 🙂
Bump? Any other ideas/suggestions?

brlabrat: I like the idea about small tailored gifts. That is what I received and really loved it. I generally am sensitive to scented things and recieved an assortment of aromatherapy lotions (bath&bodyworks). I loved it. I don’t remember what the other girls got, but it was definitely different.
I can always appreciate a nice watch 😉
