I’m not sure yet, but I’d like it to be something nice considering my mom is planning my wedding for me.

I got my mom a spa gift card. It included a manicure, pedicure, and one hour massage. She loved it.

We got DH’s dad a Notre Dame DVD collection set becuase he’s a big fan. We got my Mother-In-Law and Step-FMIL a gift card to a fancy restaurant in town.

They loved it!

For my mother & mother in law, we bought monogrammed tote bags (matching the bridal party), monogrammed pocket mirrors, and lotion/bath sets from Crabtree & Evelyn.  We’re also including a frame for the wedding pictures we will purchase for them.

The Dad’s… well, they’re also getting the frame & wedding picture.  Hahahaha.  That’s about as far as I’ve gotten with them!

We are getting married at North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Our parents are very financially stable and could buy themselves anything they want, and they have a lot of “stuff” in their homes already. So ScottSouth and I have decided to make a contribution in each of their names to the museum. This summer, their names will be etched into a stone wall that surrounds the building and everyone will know that they contributed to the museum’s future ability to educate and entertain North Carolina’s children.

I think we’re going to do photo albums of the wedding pictures.  I’m not sure how to present it though, since I’d like to give the gifts at the rehearsal dinner, but there won’t be any pics to make the books from until after the wedding.

I bought my mom and both MILs jewelry for the wedding (but also casual enough to wear another time other than the wedding). Before the jewelry I offered to pay to have their makeup done if they wanted it done, but they didn’t so jewelry it was!

I’m not sure what to get my dad. I am not, nor have I ever been a daddy’s girl so I have no idea what I can get my dad. I may just give him a pat on the back lol.

Bought my mom and stepdad season tickets to a chamber music group, gave my dad and stepmom donations to their favorite charities, and gave the ILs credits toward a cruise. We picked all these based on their individual interests and hobbies.

We gave them IOUs for a wedding album. I designed the albums myself, and actually just got them to our parents! It was quite the process, but I am so pleased with the results. And our parents LOVE them 🙂

I got my dad cufflinks to wear on the wedding day with an engraved box that says “To the first man I ever loved.”  It’s from Things Remembered.

My mom is super classy and I couldn’t buy her anything cheap because she would either never wear it and it would be a waste.  She has stated that she wouldn’t want a massage, so I got her earrings that are her birthstone.

We are also giving each of our parents gift certificates to their favorite restaurant in a frame that will be used for a wedding photo.

We are also doing photos as gifts. We will give our parents each a frame and then give them a photo of their choice later on. We have set aside time to have family portraits done on the big day, my mother has been asking for one for years so I am making sure that happens for her that day. Our photographer will give access to photos to anyone we wish on her website so they can select whatever they want and we will have it professionally framed for them. We are using my brothers lakefromt summer home as the venue. As a gift to him and his awesome wife we are asking a friend of ours who is a photographer to take some pictures of the the lake & property at sunset and we will have that framed for them.
